Professional Experience
Marco has extensive international experience in the hotel
and restaurant industry, having had the opportunity to
contribute to the growth of small companies, as well as to
optimize and ensure the know-how of leading companies
on their markets.
Marco has consulted among others, leading companies
such as Doubletree, Restaurant Associates, and Lettuce
Entertain You in the USA. Sol-Meliá, Gourmet Nova,
Restmon (now Comess Group), Nazca Capital, Mesón de
Cándido, El Molí Vell, De Torres, Hotel Ses Pitreres, Grupo
Lizarrán, and Chiqui Park in Spain. Jadran Tourist,  Anita
Vsar, Arcotel and Zaton Holiday Village in Croatia. La Storia
Trattoria in Slovenia. Cigierre in Italy.
Prior to found HMS-International, Marco has worked at
consulting firms such as THR (International Tourist
Consultants), has been associate at Planaction (Consulting
Firm specialized in Hospitality), and has worked as former
Vice-Director at Tapasbar (restaurant chain in Spain), as
well as for Hotel Dynamics and Restaurante Reno (a luxury
restaurant created by Marco´s grandfather which has had
three Michelin stars for several years).

Education and Others
Master of Management in Hospitality (Cornell University,
USA).
Degree in Economics (Univ. of Barcelona, Spain).
Principal author of the bestseller book “Gestión de Calidad
aplicada a Hostelería y Restauración”, of Pearson
Educación / Prentice Hall - 2002.
Contributing author for distinguished hospitality related
magazines.
Member of the “Subcommité de Restauración CTN 167 /
SC1” from AENOR, whose objective is the development of
quality standards for the restaurant industry in Spain.
Course of “Internal Auditor ISO 9001” at Det Norske Veritas,
and of “Adaptation of Quality Systems (ISO 9002:94 to ISO
9001:2000” at SGS.
Instructor at the “Master en Dirección de Empresas
Turísticas” at the “Instituto de Empresa” (Madrid).
Visiting Instructor for courses in Hospitality Management
and Quality, at different hotel and tourism schools (eg.:
Instituto de Empresa (Madrid), Escola Universitaria de
Turisme i Hosteleria (Sant Pol), Escola Universitaria de
Turisme i Hosteleria (Univ. Bellaterra), Escuela de
